How does checking my bill against my medical record work?
Where it is available, your results offer to Check this bill against your record. Connect the hospital that sent the bill, and rekupr compares each charge with what your medical record says was done. A finding backed by your chart, not just the bill, is marked as documented.
How do I connect my medical record?
Start from the bill's results. First you review what rekupr will read and agree to connect the record. Then you sign in at your health system's patient portal, such as MyChart, and choose what to share. rekupr never sees your portal password, and access is read-only. Support depends on your health system.
What if my hospital is not supported?
You can upload the record yourself: the visit notes or after-visit summary, as a PDF or a C-CDA (CCD) file, downloaded from your patient portal. You can also tell us which hospital you need, so we know which ones to add.
Which visit does rekupr check my bill against?
We look for the visit that matches the bill. If more than one visit could match, we ask you to choose. If we find no visit for the date on the bill, nothing is compared, and you can ask the provider to confirm the date of service. If the record we reach belongs to someone else, we stop and delete the access; sign in to the portal account that holds this bill and connect again.
How is my medical record protected?
Your record is encrypted, used only for this case. The raw copy is deleted when you disconnect (within about an hour) or after 90 days, whichever comes first, and records that support a finding stay until you delete that bill or your account. Nothing is changed in your health system.
How do I disconnect my medical record?
Go to Account settings and open Connected records, then choose Disconnect. This deletes our access right away and cannot be undone. Findings already made from the record keep their evidence until the case is deleted.
