How long will my insurer take to respond to my appeal?
It depends on your plan, your state, and the kind of claim: care you already had, care you are waiting for, or care that is urgent. Your denial letter and your plan documents say how long your insurer has to respond. If you cannot find it, call the member services number on your insurance card and ask how long they take.
How long do I have to file an appeal?
Your plan sets the deadline, and your denial letter should state it. When you give rekupr the date of your denial, we set a filing deadline 180 days after it, a common window. Your plan may allow less time, so if your letter gives an earlier date, go by the letter.
Does rekupr remind me about deadlines?
Yes. For an active appeal, we remind you by email and in your notifications 30, 14, 7, and 3 days before a deadline on your case.
What if I have not heard back from my insurer?
Call your insurer's member services and ask for the status of your appeal. Note the date, the person you spoke to, and any reference number on your case timeline. If they need more time or lost your appeal, ask what they need and send a follow-up letter.
Can an urgent appeal go faster?
Many plans offer a faster, expedited review when waiting could seriously harm your health. Ask your insurer, or your doctor's office, how to request one.
