Your insurance policy contains the coverage details that determine what you should actually owe for medical services. By uploading your policy document, you give reKUPR the information it needs to verify whether your bill aligns with your coverage — turning a general analysis into a personalized one.

How to Upload

Both organization members (through employer-sponsored plans) and individual users can upload insurance policy documents. Navigate to your account settings or the insurance section of your dashboard, and select your policy document to upload.

Supported formats include PDF, JPG, PNG, and HEIC — the same formats accepted for bill uploads.

What reKUPR Extracts from Your Policy

Once uploaded, reKUPR uses AI to automatically identify and extract key coverage details from your policy document, including:

• Deductibles — Individual and family deductible amounts
• Copays — Fixed amounts for office visits, specialists, emergency care, and prescriptions
• Coinsurance — Your percentage share after the deductible is met
• Out-of-pocket maximums — The most you'll pay in a plan year before insurance covers 100%

Tips for Best Results

• Upload the Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) — This standardized document is the most useful for extraction
• Include all pages — Make sure deductible tables, copay schedules, and exclusion lists are included
• Update when your plan changes — Upload your new policy document at the start of each plan year or when switching plans
• Check extracted details — Review the extracted coverage information to confirm accuracy after upload
