Your Appeal Center

rekupr's Appeal Center is a guided workflow that walks you through every step of disputing a medical billing issue — from selecting what to fight to generating a professional letter backed by evidence.

Getting Started

Starting from Your Analysis

  1. Go to your bill analysis
  2. Open the Appeals tab, or follow the appeal prompt on a charge flagged as appealable
  3. Review the issues rekupr identified as worth disputing
  4. Click Start Appeal to launch the Appeal Center

The Appeal Center uses the issues rekupr already identified in your analysis, so you don't need to start from scratch.

Step 1: Select Issues to Dispute

The wizard shows all appealable issues found in your analysis:

  • Billing errors — Overcharges, duplicate charges, coding mistakes
  • Denied services — Procedures your insurance refused to cover
  • Coverage issues — Services that should have been covered under your plan

For each issue, choose whether to include or exclude it from your appeal. Focus on your strongest cases and highest-dollar issues first.

Step 2: Review Evidence

This is where the Appeal Center really shines. For each issue you selected, rekupr automatically searches for supporting evidence — relevant guidelines, regulations, and coverage criteria that strengthen your case.

The Evidence Tab

On the evidence tab, you can:

  • Review each piece of evidence rekupr found
  • Include or exclude specific evidence items per issue
  • See why each piece of evidence is relevant to your dispute

This evidence is woven into your appeal letter to make it more persuasive and professional.

Step 3: Generate Your Letter

Once you've selected issues and reviewed evidence, rekupr generates a professional appeal letter that includes:

  • Clear identification — Your details, provider, claim numbers
  • Specific disputes — Each issue stated clearly with supporting arguments
  • Evidence citations — Relevant evidence integrated into your arguments
  • Professional tone — Formal language appropriate for insurance correspondence
  • Request for action — A clear statement of what you're asking for

Review the generated letter and make any personal edits before downloading.

Download and Send

Export your appeal letter as a PDF ready to print, mail, or submit through your insurer's portal.

Sending tips:

  • Certified mail is best for paper appeals — get a delivery receipt
  • Online portals are faster if your insurer supports them
  • Keep copies of everything you send

Follow-Up Letters

If your initial appeal is denied, the Appeal Center helps you fight back:

  • Generate a counter-reply that addresses the denial reasons
  • Add new evidence or context that strengthens your case
  • Reference your original appeal for continuity

You don't have to start over — the Appeal Center builds on your existing case.

Tracking Outcomes

Issue Outcome Tracking

For each issue in your appeal, you can record the outcome:

  • Resolved — The issue was decided in your favor
  • Partially resolved — You received partial relief
  • Denied — The insurer upheld their decision

This helps you track your progress and decide whether further action is needed.

Tips for Success

  • Review and personalize the generated letter before sending
  • Include all evidence that supports your case
  • Send within the deadline — most appeals have a time limit
  • Follow up if you don't hear back within the expected timeframe
  • Use counter-replies when an initial appeal is denied — persistence pays off

The Appeal Center transforms complex medical billing disputes into a manageable, guided process. Let rekupr handle the research and writing while you focus on getting results.
