Making Sense of Your Analysis

rekupr organizes your bill analysis into easy-to-navigate tabs, with a decision summary at the top of the page. Here's what you'll find, plus helpful tools available across the page.

The Decision Card and Financial Summary

At the top of your results, above the tabs, rekupr shows the big picture at a glance:

• Decision card - A prominent card summarizing the key takeaway and recommended action for your bill
• Financial summary - Total billed, patient responsibility, and potential savings displayed clearly
• Key findings - Important issues or discrepancies rekupr detected

This is your starting point for understanding whether your bill needs attention.

The Simple Terms Tab

Medical billing is confusing. The Simple Terms tab translates everything into plain English:

• AI-generated summary — A human-readable explanation of services and charges
• Patient Concerns — If you provided context during upload, a violet-themed section highlights concerns specific to your situation
• Key findings explained — Issues described without medical jargon
• Medical term tooltips — Hover over highlighted medical terms to see plain-English definitions

This tab is perfect for understanding your bill without a medical dictionary.

The Financials Tab

For those who want the details, the Financials tab provides:

• Line-by-line breakdown — Every charge with its CPT/HCPCS code
• Bill vs. EOB comparison — Side-by-side matching with confidence indicators when you upload both documents
• Discrepancy detection — Highlighted differences between what was billed and what insurance processed
• Charge analysis — Assessment of whether charges appear reasonable

Use this tab when you need to dig into specific line items.

The What We Found Tab

The What We Found tab lists the issues rekupr detected, so you can take the next step:

• Detected issues - Charges and discrepancies flagged for your attention
• Appeal opportunities - Charges that may be worth disputing
• Plain-English explanations - What each issue means and why it matters

When a charge is worth disputing, open the Appeals tab to build and track your case. The Appeals tab is a guided, multi-step process for building strong appeal letters (the Appeal Center).

Ask rekupr — AI Chat

Look for the "Ask rekupr" button on your results page. It opens a chat assistant that answers questions about your specific bill data in plain English. Ask about charges, codes, or anything you don't understand. See "Ask rekupr: Your AI Bill Assistant" for more details.

Medical Term Tooltips

Throughout your results, medical terms appear with a subtle tooltip indicator. Hover over any highlighted term to see a short, clear definition — no need to search elsewhere.

Working Through Your Results

We recommend this approach:

1. Start with the decision card at the top to see the recommended action and financial summary
2. Read In Simple Terms for a clear explanation
3. Dive into Financials for any charges you want to investigate
4. Check What We Found for flagged issues, then use Appeals to start a dispute

Your analysis is saved and can be accessed anytime from your dashboard.
