What is a case on rekupr?
Each case follows one episode of care, such as a hospital stay or a course of treatment. It keeps the bills, EOBs, and medical records for that care together, so rekupr can check them together. Where cases are available on your account, you will see Cases in the main menu. If you do not see it, your bills are under Sources and your appeals under Appeals.
How does a bill get into a case?
When you upload, rekupr files your documents into a case: a new case, or one you choose. From a case page, choose Upload a document to add a bill or EOB straight to that case. If a new bill looks like it belongs with an earlier one, your results may suggest grouping them.
What does a case page show?
- The bills in the case, and what we found on each one
- How much may be worth questioning; these are possible corrections, not savings yet
- Any questions we need you to answer before we finish
- Medical records read for this case, where connected. Records read for a case stay with it, and only that case uses them.
- Appeals and requests started from its bills
Can I move a bill or merge cases?
Yes. Move a bill sends one bill to another of your open cases; we check the bill again in its new case, and this case again without it. Merge into another case puts these bills with another case so we can check them together; this case is closed afterwards.
How do I close, reopen, or rename a case?
Close a case when you are done with it. It stays in your list, and you can reopen it any time. A closed case is not offered for new uploads until you reopen it. You can also give a case a name you will recognize.
What happens if I delete a case?
Deleting a case deletes the bills in it. If the case has medical records, they are deleted too, and a health system connected only for this case is disconnected. We keep your consent record for six years, as the law requires. Deleting a case cannot be undone.
